I've been having problems with my O/U(single selective trigger) shotgun firing the top barrel, the bottom barrel will go off with no problem but when I go for the double the trigger pulls bout half way locks up and nothing, I've got 1000 rounds thru it and I've never cleaned the trigger assembly could this be my problem or dose it sound like something wrong and should be sent back ?

NEI!

Translated, NOT enough information. Without cleaning the gun you wouldn't have a clue whether that was the problem or not. I use returning a gun as a LAST resort! Take the stock off and look see what's going on in there! May very well have something getting caught in the trigger group. What kind of gun? Just O/U doesn't narrow it up much.

Sure you are not "trapping" the trigger?????
Sure would help to at least know what brand of o/u. Just because they are O/u's doesn't mean that the trigger assemblies are the same.

Disclaimer: I suggest you not remove your stock unless you have a torque wrench and the recommended torque setting for your stock bolt. Pull the stock off, leave the barrels on and load a pair of snap caps. You should be able to follow the cocking action and then observe what happens (or what doesn't happen) when you dry fire. Does your gun have mechanical or inertia triggers?
