Any of you guys ever use any longshot. Looks like you can really get some good velocity with 1 1/8oz shot. And make a killer dove load with it.

It's a terrific performer, but it has a specific niche--that being very high speed bunker-buster loads and fast heavy field loads. If that's really where you want to go for dove, Longshot will definitely get you there.

Be prepared: with 1 1/8oz you're looking at muzzle velocities over 1400fps with lots of recoil and noise.

There was a time. Now at my age(read OLD) it seems that [email protected] fps will handle all my needs for dove.

Been smacking dove with it all season so far. I reached out to a few yesterday afternoon to 60 yards, stoned them.

I dunno that you need longshot and 1-1/8 and 1400fps to do that. While shooting five stand on Sunday a dove flew across our field. It was time to change stations so I decided to shoot (at) that bird. I "stoned" him as well. After the round was over I went and picked him up and had a friend hit me with his Nikon rangefinder. The yardage?? 67 yards - IM choke and my 1 oz, reclaimed shot, 1200fps reloads.
