Its brand new along with another new one called Perfect Pattern. We've ben talking about it on TS. Hodgdon has not posted the data yet on their website but I am sure they will soon. As of today, the are both in stock at PV for $211 per 8-pounder so also lower cost than the other powders. WST is $296.

 

Got the same email. Looked at it and the cost looks decent. But I'd also like to see some feedback on it. I am sure, since it is Hodgdon, it is good.

 

I would like to know what range of MEC bushings. In the high 20s or in the low /mid 30s.

 

Strange. Why is the data on the bottle with Remington primers? Maybe they have a secret stash?
They used Cheddite primers at least.

Did a google on the powder, the 1 pounder had this info. Shot 1 1/8 AA hull, WAA12 Wad, Win 209 18.4gr at 1255 fps, Fed 1 1/8 CB2118-12, 209A 20.0gr 1255 fps. It also had recipes for Ched hulls and primers. It's a little cheaper than the 700X I run now for 1255.

Yes, it had 1oz loads as well. I couldn't get the hover thing to stop to screen shot the container.

 

hope it has other data, i don't even shoot live stuff with loads like that too often.

 

Perfect Pattern at first glance appears to be the much faster burning of the two. Ballpark Titewad?

High Gun seems at first glance as if it 'might' slot in somewhere around the burn rate ballpark of Titegroup.

 

Thats kinda my take, but would be nice to know more exactly where the 2 sit in Burn Rate. Perfect Pattern close to ( E3, titewad, Ramshot Competition, Nitro 100) which one is it closest to?
High Gun , ( American Select, Green Dot, Intl Clays, Titegroup, etc) be nice to know where they truly sit.

Probably because they CAN'T keep the "old reliables" in stock. Hodgdon is primarily a marketer, not a manufacturer. If they could get the stuff, you can bet they would have it. Since they can't, they are finding alternatives.

 

I'd still like to see Nitro 100 NF on the shelves.

I bought 16 lbs. last night. I will see how it goes. I may send some out for 16 gauge testing. Probably 7/8 oz. loads.

I agree, but waiting for 700-X in 8 lbers. is getting old fast. I have seen 4 lb. and 1 lb. bottles not interested. I have enough 700-X to get me through until September.

Realistically, most any 12 gauge target powder will do the job. I have used most of them and the number of X's on the score card has never changed when the powder changed.

If that's true, there's always, American Select, Red Dot, Titewad, Competition, e3, Extra Lite, High Gun.........somehow I'll make it through.
