alrite... ive been looking for a new waterfowl gun.. gonna keep my 11-87 for the deer woods...

i was considering antoehr 11-87 or an 870 yes im a remington man..

but after seeing the new 2000 series i really like them.. they remind me of a benelli M1 means they are kinda made by benelli

so how do you guys like them

i can get a camo one for about the same price i can get the exact same 870 for.. but its an semi.. which i love..

but can you get the 2000 in a supermag? or is 3 the biggest you can shoot.. just want the 3 1/2 for my duck/goose/turkey hunting :arrow:

Currently the M2000 is available in 3". They have a 3.5" in the planning stages thay will be labelled the M3500. They claim sometime in 2008 for its release.

The new edition M2000s are OK. The old editions were hit or miss on getting quality. Enough shooters complained about the issues and Vursan listened. I have had no problems with mine.

I did have one of the old editions and there is no comparison. It worked great, just didn't fit me, looked like it was run out by a drunk Turk with a dull file on a dark night. I ran across the guy I traded it to recently and he he says it is still pumping out lead, never a problem. When He saw my new edition, he almost took it away from me. I guided him to my Benelli dealer, where he quickly made a trade.

I will be glad when Stoeger/Vursam builds a 20 gauge. I think it would be a runaway best seller.

I strongly recommend the Stoeger 2000. Mine has been flawless. Not one problem of any kind. It is SO simple to take apart and clean that you have to do it to believe it. It shoulders and points so well that I'm done looking at semi-autos for a while or until I somehow can swing the $$$ for an M2 or Montefeltro. . . . but I will KEEP my 2000. I can see I'll also be in the market for a larger gun cabinet soon! Yes, I have the shotgunaholic disease, but at least it's not hard on my liver, just my bank acct.

I believe that when Stoeger releases the 3500 series they will have all the bugs worked out. It took a while to get the 2000 right. I don't like for the customer to act as the quality control personnel for any gun company but whatever it takes to get it right.

Now I anxiously await their 20 gauge-if ever!!

My wife asks me frequently how many guns I need. The answer: "Just one more". She really believes me. I'd buy a Stoeger 20 gauge in a heartbeat.

I've had my 2000 for at least 3 years and maybe 4, funny how they run together. Any way, mines a first model with the white front bead and flat rib, I know the current models have a red glow bead and have heard but cannot confirm that the rib is stepped. Mine is also the max-4 camo camo version.

I have never had a problem with my gun, it has always performed flawlessly. I have not tried to shoot light target loads in it however, because I just use it for hunting, mostly ducks and geese. It is now my Son's favorite gun to shoot. I would recommend the gun to anyone based on my experience.

Its a bargin.

Mine was nothing but trouble. I returned it to the retailer. I really wanted the gun, but I couldnt handle those misfires. nobody elses gun misfired - why should mine? Good luck and I hope you get a good one.

I would stick with the 870 if I were you.

If you want to upgarde from and 870 get a super black eagle or an Xtrema. They are they only honorable upgrades from an 870 for waterfowling.

stoegers continue to have a lot of quality control issues.
