Hi,I have inherited my great grandfathers LC Smith sxs. It's in good shape, but should probably be cleaned. Because of it's age (1906) and appearant worth I'm guessing I should take it to a gunsmith to have him/her look it over and give it a cleaning at best. Should I try to find a GS that specializes in antique guns or will any competent GS be able to take care of me without reducing the value of the gun?2nd questions....anyone know of a reputable GS in south florida?

Yes you should take it in, if it made it this far in life leave it to the pro`s that way you have someone to blame if any thing goes wrong, plus can inspect for cracks in the wood inspect all parts, and reassemble correctly, If you can find any one local I can help you.GOOD LUCK!Ron KONTOWSKYACTIONS BY R.A.K.www.deansgunshop.com
