I came across a 12-***** and was hoping for more information about it. On the top of the barrel it says 'CHOKE BORED-PAT.APPLD.FOR FALLS ARMS CO.CHICOPEE FALLS MASS.'. Also, on the bottom behind the triger it says '1864'. On the side of the gun it has 'NITRO SPECIAL' engraved. I assume it is a Stevens gun since it was made in Chicopee falls. Am I right?
Yep Nitro Special was a name used by Stevens Arm and Tool co. I don't know the particulars, whether it was a Stevens name or one of the trade names (might be an "inhouse" trade name)
