I finally got to shoot my new-to-me Verona LX502s this weekend, that was nice. Too bad I had to drive clear out to Osborne to do it, since I don't have a place to shoot around KC for casual clays with friends.

I'm in Independence and, yes, I've shot at Claythorne as well as Flint Oak. Many folks are favorably impressed with the terrain at Claythorne. I, however, am not one of them. Remember, though, that I grew up in Pittsburg and saw the same kind of terrain every day. Now, as to targets, Claythorne does throw some great presentations.

I'll be moving to the Overland Park area at the end of May. Looks like there is a pretty nice trap/skeet range in the area so I'm looking forward to that.

In the Overland Park area, the closest public range is Powder Creek in Lenexa with skeet, trap, sporting clays and Argentine. Saddle and Sirloin is a private club just across the state line in Missouri and requires membership. It has skeet, trap, wobble trap, 5 stand, sporting clays and the only Olympic Bunker trap in the area. A little further east and south is the City of Harrisonville, Missouri public range with skeet, wobble skeet and trap. No sporting clays or 5 stand. For rifle and handgun there is Mill Creek. I has limited shotgun shooting.

I too seldom post in this forum, but we are alive and well in Holton, Ks. This time of year is Sporting Clays and some Trap. The clays are mostly at Cokeley's near Delia, KS. (about 15miles from home), and trap at Valley Falls Ks. occasionally. I collect and shoot vintage doubles in 12 and 20gage ( at least one each of McKintosh's "7 Best Guns Made in America"). And for serious work, a Pachmayr Perazzi 20 gage and a Perazzi MX6 in 12 gage. Come on out and join us sometime. We are North of Topeka 30 miles, and Cokeley's is West and South of the Prairie Band Casino halfway between Topeka and Holton. Regards!! Lee. {hs#

Alive and well in the Air Capital, just haven't been on Shotgunworld in awhile and a haven't posted longer than that.

Been busy following a great Hockey Season...but now that its over I need to get my butt out and shoot some skeet...don't remember the last time I did that.

As I recall from many years ago you were out West somewhere when you retired.

I was in CA at that time and have since called it quits and moved to Iowa.

Retirements not been that bad...do miss the travel and being able to go overseas.
Don't really miss where I retired from though lol. The base was really the issue. Canon AFB really sucked, but I actually liked Clovis, New Mexico.
