Hi, I bought a New Ithaca model 37 12ga Bicentennial & the gun was made in 1976. I would like to know if the new slug barrels will work on it? The serial numbers are not the same as the production shotguns,so i cannot go by them. Thanks for your help

Yes, newer barrels will fit this model. Nice Model 37. Enjoy!

Ok, The slug barrel won't work. The barrel fit's in the receiver & turns ok until you get to a certain point,then the barrel raises up from the yoke & is harder to turn. Once the barrel was harder to turn i stopped so i wouldn't mess up the threads on the receiver. Any reason why this barrel won't work? Thanks, Bill

The yoke may a little crooked. This will cause the barrel to be tight. You can sometimes loosen the yoke screw and the barrel and yoke will line up together as you turn the barrel on. If this doesn't work, the threads may have to be tweeked a little. Thanx!
