Ithaca Model 37 Riot Questions

I have the opportuntity to purchase an 1,010,000 (1968) Ithaca Model 37 Riot Gun. 12 Ga. It has an 18" barrel, parkerized, bead sight, no sling swivels. According to the info on barrel, it is a featherweight. (Is this correct?) Other markings are proofs on the front right of the receiver and right next to it on the barrel. They look like tiny eagles with a P in the center. The finish is 70-80%, the wood is fine except for a chip taken out of the buttstock right by the buttplate. (No recoil pad.)

What markings I should look for? Is $195 a good price? Thanks.

Unless you are just looking for an Ithaca, I think that price is a bit high for the condition of the gun. For just a little more, you could get a brand new Mossberg or Rem Express. If you really want that gun, I'd offer the seller about $140 to $150, and if he refuses your offer, I'd look elsewhere. That's just MY opinion. Do whatever you want. In the grand scheme of things, $50 isn't that much to argue about. 8)
Thanks for the information. I do like Ithacas but I think I'll pass on this one.
