While looking for shooting gloves, I discovered that none seemed thin enough nor did any I tried give me the proper feel. I do a little track driving in the summer months and forgot that I bought a pair of driving gloves last year. I came across them last night and realized they are perfect. They are made by Sparco and are contoured with palm padding. The most important feature for me are the externally-stitched seams. There is no bulk on the inside of the glove and they feel like a second skin. On the track I was able to feel every nuance of road surface changes and steering feedback.

If you're looking for a great pair of gloves, you may wish to give these a try.

I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to offend.

There are glove liners for skiing gloves - you know, that cold snow sport? ;) - that are really snug on the hand but the weave is tight. They look kinda like this:

They're not bulky at all - they are VERY thin. Driving gloves cannot be bulky. I think you are seeing the external seams which give the illusion of bulk. In reality, they make the glove fit much better than any I have tried.

I looked at golf gloves, but found them to be too thick for comfort.

I've had excellent results with military nomex gloves. This year I also am trying some cabelas kangaroo leather insulated. Have worked great the last 2 shoots I did. Tuesday it was 0-neg 5. Fingers got a little cold but not bad.
