hi guys,
i just got this sxs and its got 1 trigger with a selector button on it, how do i fire this? PUSH LEFT FOR LEFT BBL,PUSH RIGHT FOR RIGHT BARREL? in the middle to just go bang left, bang right? i want to be able to load 2 shells, and go pull, bang, pull, bang, or do i have to manual push the selector for each shot?
any help would be good

I see nobody has answered you yet. I have the O/U, but I'm sure it's the same. Selecting a barrel only decides which one shoots first. You select which one you want to shoot first and then you can go bang, bang. Normally while bird hunting, you would shoot the more open choked barrel first. Not knowing if you have choke tubes or fixed chokes, cannot try to help you as to which barrel you want to select. Bird hunting or shooting at them little clay things?

oldhunter1 is correct. I own two SPR210's. One is a .410 with fixed modified and full chokes, (no screw in chokes available with this gauge) the other a 12 ga. with screw in chokes.

The barrel selector button on the IZH-43/SPR210 simply selects which barrel fires first. If you have screw in chokes you can place whichever choke you wish to use with either barrel and select them to fire in whatever sequence you wish.

After you fire the first shot you simply release the trigger a bit to reset it to fire the second shot....

I am strongly considering an IZH-43 20 ga for my next shotgun. JUst wondeirng if the single select tigger is reliable, or is it prone to malfunction? Would I be better off with a single non-select trigger on a cheaper gun like the IZH-43?

Guys, why don't you do what I do. Just ignore the selector! I only use the trigger selector if I want to pattern the gun with a specific choke. When I hunt, I just let the default bottom barrel fire first and then the top barrel .

If I had the SxS baikal, I'd probably ignore the selector on that one, too.

I'm unaware if a new IZH 43/SPR 210 exists without a single selective trigger.

They are available with fixed chokes on the earlier Baikal IZH 43's and with
screw in chokes in later IZH 43's and all SPR 210's in 12, 16,
and 20 gauges. The .410's remain with fixed chokes.

You may be referring to the double triggered SPR 220's that gives you
a barrel choice by which trigger you select. I have two SPR 210's that
have performed flawlessly with their trigger select and I've not read a
single report of a problem with their function. I personally like the appearance
of a single trigger but it really is just a matter of preference.

The 20 gauge is a great choice in this shotgun as it is based on the smaller
side-by-side frame. My two are a 12 and a 410 and I'll probably buy a
20 gauge soon.

One suggestion you may want to consider is the LOP on the sxs doubles
is a bit short for many people. It's a problem that can be remedied but
certainly one to consider.

Ιam an owner of an IZH27 em1C with a single trigger mechanism.By default the bottom barrel fires first . If I want to change the sequence I simply pull the back of the trigger forward with my index finger till I hear a click sound. Then the upper barrel fires first. If I break to open the gun the sequence returns to default. In these case i have to propose to read the service manual first.!!! Good Hunting and fiRe safe!!!!!

I meant to say Stoeger Uplander. They have a single non select trigger model at a nearby gun shop.

From what I've heard, the Baikal/spartan seems to have fewer problems.

I'll have to take a trip soon to Ellwood Epps to check out the Baikals. For 500$ brand new, it seems like a solid gun for a reasonable price. I don't want anything more expensive than that, because I want to be able to hunt with it and not worry too much about scuffs or scratches.
