J. Stevens Side by Side

I was given a J. Stevens side by side that was my grandfathers. The gun is not in very good condition but can be saved. I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a stock for the gun. Both the fore end and the butt stock are damaged or missing. The only identification I can find is a 57 stamped on both the reciever and the barrels. It is hammerles and has two triggers. There are some companies out there who have stocks for older guns, but they list them by model number. I am not sure if the 57 is the model number or not.

Thanks!

I did find a model 57 in a serialization list but it doesn't say if it's a shotgun or what so I cannot answer your question with certainty. I can say that Stevens had a slug of models listed though .

there is no model 57. go to a local gun smith he should be able to tell you what you have and where to get wood.
