If you are going to replace the butt pad on your shotgun, replace it with a Limbsaver, either the Classic or the new AirTech.
They beat a Kick-Eez all to pieces.
The Kick-Eez pads are handsome, and they last forever, but they don't absorb recoil like some of the softer pads.

The Limbsavers wear out faster, but boy do they work. And isn't that the whole purpose of buying a butt pad?

The dual action works better, but I can't say how much.
I have replaced the Limbsaver pads in the past, as they disintegrate faster than the Kick-Eez.
The only downside to the Limbsaver is the metal plate if you grind too far.
The trick is to not buy too large a "grind-to-fit" pad.
Limbsaver makes a ton of precieion-fit pads to fit all common guns, and various sizes of grind-to-fit.

The very early Limbgsavers, from 20-25 years ago, did get very soft and sticky, and Sims will replace them for free. The current Limbsavers are holding up very well; they will wear a little faster than a harder pad, but that's to be expected. I have several that have been in constant use for more than ten years and don't need replacing, even though they are exhibiting some wear on the edges.
I'll take effectiveness over longevity every time; they aren't expensive.
