I just received a Lefever 16 ga. in an inheritance. The only markings on the gun are "Lefever Nitro Special" "Lefever Arms Co. Ithaca N. Y." on top of the barrel. I can find no other markings on the gun, no serial number or model. There is no ***** number. The gun has a flying goose ingraved on each sideplate, the grip is embossed/painted not knurled and the butt plate is black wood. Can you help me with the age or value or maybe where any other markings may located?

NITRO SPECIAL
- 12, 16, 20 ga., or .410 bore, 26-32 in. barrels, various chokes, boxlock, extractors, checkered pistol grip stock. Mfg. 1921-48
Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
16 ga. $725 $650 $575 $475 $400 $350 $300

Have you checked in the "break" when it's open? As far as I know all Nitro Specials did have a serial number on them.
