I'm interested in 1 oz. loads using the winchester WT12 or clones. It seems to give a nicer crimp with the HS 12 gauge hulls than the 12SL. Using International powder, Thanks

The WT12 is a less expensive replacement for the WAA12 wad. Structurally, it is almost identical to the WAA12SL wad, with slightly shorter legs and a longer cup. If you load with 20 gr. of International you will get approxmately 1220 fps at around 9,500 psi. If you like the stack height of this wad better than the WAA12SL, go ahead and use it. It won't make much difference in terms of pressure or velocity.

Good luck, Bruce

Eyeman,
First off the WT-12 is simply a cheaper version of the WAA12 1-1/8 oz. wad, and the WAA12SL wad is a 1 oz. wad. This is why it gives you more room in the AA HS cases for the crimp.

Best wads on the planet for the AA HS 12 ga. cases is the Down Range DRA series of wads. The DRA-12-1 pink (Now red) for 1 oz. loads, the DRA-12- 1-1/8 white, for 1-1/8 oz. loads, and the DRA-12-1-1/4 Yellow , for 1-1/4 oz. loads.

These wads are designed as clones of the W/W wads, but are slightly shorter, which compensates for the lesser capacity of the AA HS cases. These wads simply fit the HS cases better than any other available wad. They also work very satisfactorally in Remington cases too.
