I'm looking at a Franchi Verona O/U with 20 and 28 ga barrel sets. Found it at Cabela's for what seems a good price, but I can't find this model on the Franchi website.

How does it compare to the Veloce and Alcione models?

I think you may be mixing/confusing two different guns. Verona is it's brand made by FAIR. Franchi makes the Veloce.

Not an expert, just my guess.

A buddy of mine won a 20 ga Veloce at a DU dinner. Sweet gun! I am VERY jealous. Shoots great!

I assume you mean Franchi Veloce. I bought a 20 gauge two months ago and I love it. It is however, very light, and will impart more felt recoil than a heavier gun. No matter, I bought it for chuckar and quail, not dove or clays. That's my only caveat. Higher-volume shooting, IMO, should be done through a heavier gun, say 6.5-8 lbs, unless your shoulders are immune to punishment.
