The owners manual does not cover how to clean the recoil spring and tube on my M2. I have done it several times on a rem. 1100 but never a benelli. What is the right way to do it on a M2?

I did see a picture at one time of the new design. It looked like what you would find on a Remington, Browning, or Winchester. Looked liked it had a cross pin at the back of the tube holding in all of the parts. The old design needed to be heated up and the hole tube unthreaded from the receiver.

Let us know how it went and what was involved.

Worc,
The gun is working great, so it might be a while before I clean the recoil spring and tube. I have put around 500 rounds through it with out the first hint of trouble. I didn't notice a cross bolt, like my 1100, when I had the stock off to adjust it. I looked at the tube and didn't see one at least.
