I have a Stoeger 2000 that I purchased in June 2003. The magazine limiter plus broke (the rod and the ring came apart) after 125 rounds. I took it to Stoeger Canada and had it replaced on the spot.

During the opening season this weekend, the same thing happened. :x :x :x

Does this happen very often? Is this a Stoeger only problem?

I've not heard of this happening on Browning or Remington but it probably has. I know for Remingtons I've seen people make their own out of wood or anything else they could find in the woods.

I don't know how Stoegers are made but have it replaced and see if maybe someone could fashion you one out of different material.

It is a metal rod and a metal ring. Apparently it is the same parts use for Bennelli. Maybe I will get a welder to weld it together for me.
