hi guys can you tell me when my marlin 55,the original marlin goose gun ,3 inch magnum chamber,12 ga. 36 inch barrel full choke bolt, serial no. 256090xx was manufactured and the value please thanks errol

Errol, I only know of one serialization for Marlins and it's patchy on years here is what the Bluebook says about the value.

MODEL 55 GOOSE GUN
- similar to Model 55, except 12 ga. only, 36 in. full choke barrel, 3 in. chamber, 2 shot mag., leather carrying strap and detachable swivels, walnut stock with rubber recoil pad, 8 lbs. Mfg. 1962-96.

Well, I wouldn't say no way. You might be able to contact Marlin directly.

thanks guys i found out that after 1973? marlin used this method take the fisrt 2 numbers of serial no. and subtract it from 100 and you have the year of manufacture ( 100 - 25 = 1975 ) very simple ? but i guess it works thank you errol
