In 1998, Marlin advised against shooting their old slide action shotguns, that was a liability move and I'm sure Marlin would rather you buy one of their new ones.. I would seek te advice of a competent gunsmith.. Yours gun is worth$100 $200 depending on condition, unless it a higher grade model..It came in Grades A, B, C, and D..Bushrod
