I live in a state where you are not allowed to use rifles to hunt deer with,so I have lots of experience in seting up slugguns.I was in one of my local shops a few days ago and seen a potental next project siting on the shelf. They had 3 mauser 12's in what apeared to be unmollested condition.the price seemed inline with the older k185 mossbergs and j.c.higgins I ussaly pick up,but I have never seen a mauser shotgun before a wanted to know if they where any good,or should I pass on the for somthing different? My build ups for bolt actions consist of cutting the choke off, bedding the action and barrel like a rifle, and adding a reddot site or remmington adj.rifle sights, adding weight to the butt so it draws easier, and a good rubber recoil pad

hey guy's,thanks for the replies.I think I will pass on the mauser. The safty of my face is alot more important than shootin' any $90 shotgun.the only reason I was thinking about building one was because I have had some experience with there rifles and just thought there scaterguns should be the same ,guess I was wronge.I am a hunter not a collector and it would just eat me up having a gun that I could not shoot, etheir because of fear or machanical problems.thanks agian, SPRITE:| :| :|
