Getting ready to buy my first reloader and have decided on getting the Sizemaster. Is this a good choice for a first time reloader being that the only other singel stage choice in the price range is the mark 5. I like that the sizemaster comes with the primer feeder and dont have to buy it extra like with the mark 5

Me too. I went from a 650 progressive to a sizemaster single station and like the sizemaster a lot better. Does a good job of sizing without effort and is fast enough for me.

The progressive loaders are okay if you never make a mistake or change a load and you need a whole bunch of shells.

The sizemaster is a good loader at a good price. I am going to buy another in 12 gauge to go with my 20.

I have two sizemasters, one in 12 Ga. and the other in 20 Ga. and I have nothing but praise for these reloaders. Auto-primer feed is a nice option, but my favorite feature is the re-sizing collet built right in.

I'd say go for it.

These are great loaders. I have one in 12, 20, and .410. They are great for not only first timers but for all levels of skill. A progressive might be faster, but a single stage really has a level of precision that I think is unatainable with more complex unit.

good luck

I just upgraded from a SM 72 to a 9000G grabber. I've had the SM for about 3 months. The SM worked great but I can't spend 6 hours a week loading all the shells I need. Never had a problem and adjustments are easy to make.

Its good to start out on a single stage, because on a progressive when you make a mistake, you might have messed up a bunch of shells.
