I am looking at buying a 20 ga. Merkel marked that it was made in West Germany. How do they compare to the Merkel made after the unification or to the guns made now. Also what should you pay, this one has the silver hunting scene engraved.

After the last great international misunderstanding and prior to unification, Merkels were made in the DDR (East Germany). Look for a gun with a Q1 (First quality for export) stamped on the watertable.
