Model 11 Barrels

I have recently acquired my grandfathers 12 gauge model 11. It is of the WWII vintage, and has the appropriate US armory markings.

While he did serve in the US Army during WWII, I have been informed by my great uncle that this was an acquisition he made after the war, and that it was not his service arm. (doubt privates kept them anyways)

At some point, my grandfather had it fitted with a poly-choke barrel. It may have served its purpose at the time it was installed, but I would like something a little less obtrusive. Does anyone know of a source for replacement barrels, especially one that might accept 12 gauge Remington choke tubes?

Thanks

Adam

You should probably just send the barrel to Mike Orlen, have the polychoke removed and choke tubes installed. he may be able to bore it for Remchokes. It will be cheaper than another barrel and you'll have the original ordnance stamps on both barrel and receiver.
Try :

Corsons 928-718-4282

The Barrel Exchange 229-423-2462

Or Google these sites. Both have alot of M11 barrels at most times.

Bye the way, that Poly-Choke will throw about the best patterns that you can find anywhere.

Well then, maybe I should just hang on to it! I'll take a swing with it @ the wobble trap and see what comes of it.
