Hi all, I have a chance to buy a model 12 16 ga. (483261). What is there appears to be in good shape, but it is missing several parts. It has the trigger guard, but the trigger and the other parts attached to it are missing. Are any of these parts interchangeable with the 12 ga? Also, magazine spring, cap, pin etc. are missing. This gun was one that belonged to my late dad, and my mom is looking to sell it. What would be a fair price?

hello Steve: Well 16 ***** parts in the trigger guard assy. do not inter change with a 12 ga. The 16 ga was built on the same frame as the 20ga. That's a 1927/28 Md 12 with a factory 2 3/4 in chamber (Winchester changed from 2 9/16 to 2 3/4 in 1927.

I would need a detailed list of parts that you need to give you an accurrate cost. But having a gunsmith install the right trigger into the trigger guard would be about $50 and the trigger is about $20. Just from what you said on the mag tube assy you are looking at about $75.

As to the value of the gun in it's current condition, if original (not reblued) $150-$200 on any given day. If it was complete, $350-$500 I do have all the parts you may need, you can email me at [email protected] if you'd like.

hello Steve: That vintage of 16ga. the only difference between the 20 & 16 is the shell crrier or lifter. The unit that lifts the shell as it comes out of the mag tube and feeds it into the chamber as you move the action slide forward.

Will it "drop" in maybe, yoyu have to remember these were all machined on convential machines, the most common tolerance of +/- .010 so some filing may be required to get the best possible fit.
