Hello,

I just picked up a Winchester 140 Ranger 12 gauge in 95% condition for $150 bucks at my local shop. I would like to know some information about this gun.

What years where they produced, and what was the MSRP?

Is the furniture walnut?

Are the guns parts interchangeable with the 1200, 1300, or 1500?

Where can I buy a 26 inch barrel with vented rib and winchoke?

What is the difference between the 140 and the 1400?

Anyone other then Ramline make aftermarket stocks and forearms for them?

Thanks guys

EMT,

I have a Winchester140 in 20 ga. The parts are interchangeable with the 1400 and 1500. The 1200 and 1300 are pump guns so they don't mix and match with the 140.

The furniture is probably birch. The 140 was an "economy" model of the 1400 semiautomatic. The 1500 was a more "upscale" model. I saw a 1500 in 20 ga. a few weeks ago. The stock was gorgeous. Otherwise it was absolutely identical to my 140 Ranger.

I don't remember what the MSRP was. I did buy my gun new as a present to my dad. It was in the mid to late 1980's when I bought it. He can't see to shoot, so I bought it from him a few years ago.

You can go to Midwest Gun Works (they are Shotgun World sponsors) and get all sorts of stuff for your 140.

I can't help you on the synthetic stock question.

I think you did pretty well for $150 bucks!
