Does anyone know if the Savage Model 720 had serial numbers? If so, where would one find it? Thanx for any help on this.

I do not believe they ever had serial numbers.
Production stopped around 1949.

I've been reading thru the Savage forum here and it looks like some 720s had serial numbers and some did not. I don't know the date as to when they started putting numbers on them. I'm looking at one online that apparently doesn't have a number. It isn't really that important, I just would like to know the date if possible.
