Well I got to "lay hands" on one of the 20ga Autoloaders today.
The rumor I heard a few months back was confirned as soon as he brought it from the back, it was in a Black & Yellow "Mossberg International" box. It is being imported by Mossberg.
That being said, the 28" barreled black synthetic model that I was shown and got to take it apart was "top notch". The fit & finish were as good or better than on my 930. The gun came with 5 choke tubes. The internals of the gun were very nicely machined, reminded me of a Beretta. It was very nicely balanced and it swung very well...
The barrel was roll marked with:
Made in Turkey by Kayhan Armsan
Imported by Mossberg Int'l, Inc. North Haven, CT
I did a Google search and didn't come up with anything, the inside sales guy said they only had them for a few weeks and they only sold a couple...
I don't know how it shoots or anything else, yet....
kayhan is the proper name, but the shotgun line is khan, go figure... kayhan maybe a holding or parent company. it shows up in the address, but all related shotgun matters go to the khan name. check out the engravings. wow, nice patterns!
if you google khan shotguns you'll find a thread or thousand on khan arms, some here at shotgunworld. more than one broken firing pin... seems to be a nice gun with "bugs" in it. kinda hit or miss tho. smitty i think their finally fixing the firing pin issue b/c of mossberg. pro-qoe has been to send out new firing pins to the customer. this is from a 2004 thread on wingshooter magazine.
The black synthetic Kahn on the link you gave looks just like my 20ga ESCORT that is imported from Hatsan Arms in Turkley by Legacy Sports. The stock and recoil pad look exactly the same. The Escort's frame is steel though and the gun weighs a pound more.
