Well after a long wait I finally got a model 42. I wanted a pre-war model 42 but I had no luck finding one of that era with a solid rib. My desire was a model 42 with a 28" barrel, full choke and solid rib. This little guy has all of the above plus a upgrade with double diamond wood. The gun has been refinished but I don't care. I wanted a shooter. What do you guys think?

Any parts I should stock up on?

Hello squareload: Nice "shooter". This is what I recommend, left hand extractor and the "heavy adjusting sleeve", as spare parts, and anything else you can pick up! You just never know!!

This is what I can tell you about the gun from the pictues. It has the Japanese Browning Md 42 Grade IV wood on it, with a Winchester butt plate. The blueing looks like it may be from Andy's Custom Shop which may mean the rib is his too? Can't quite tell from the pictures posted, but it does look like Andys bluing.

Sweet Shooter!

Regards Dave
