my new used o/u is slightly lose

i have recently bought a american arms nwtf silver special o/u turkey gun . it seems slightly lose were the barrels lock up(i didnt not notice when i picked it up) ,cant even get a pice of paper in the gap. i bought from a very good friend of mine , im not sure if he ever shot it , he bought it to sell during the summer , and i was looking for a o/u with screw in chokes for various hunting applications so i bought it from him . it was $350 . i have not shot it yet .is it safe to shoot ?
