Those are from a Remington 1100, heavy barreled Colt AR-15, and Romanian PSL. There's one more from an air rifle somewhere around here...

add super redhawk and handi rifle, 870, 500, 930, tompson center to that list. long guns suck. its like dragging a boat paddle through the woods or anywhere else . just a waste of good metal that could be used to make more guns. :/

Ha! That's pretty good. Though, it depends on what I want to do with it. For a shotgun or pistol-cal carbine (or .22lr), I definitely want the shortest barrel possible. For rifle-caliber weapons, though, I like what is gained by the extra barrel length. For a .243 the difference in velocity between an 18" barrel and a 26" barrel is indeed a few hundred FPS.

I want a long barrel on varmint rifles. My .220 Swift has a 27-1/4 barrel
