me and my old man are looking to get some kind of atv in the next year for hunting purposes. we were thinking about something in the way of a john deer gator. the reason is we cut a lot of wood and a six wheeler vehicle will have some more space that we can haul wood and crap like that with. plus it has seating for two which the 4 wheeler does not. just wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of these vehicles ,and could possibly tell me where i could pick one up used. any help would be great.

I have a Gator. It is great. I've used it to track deer, haul anything and take deer out of the woods. It is great for that type of work. It has some limits:1) it is slow (I think like 20MPH)2) Steep slick hills can give it problems4) Wide load in woodsThe major upsides are:1) Comfort2) Bed (go for the dumper, I love it)3) Covered cab (add on)5) Handles great6) John Deer Quality7) SidexSide seatingI say go for!To get a used one call a John Deer dealer or like me go bid on one at a farm bankrucy auction. Seems to be a lot of those lately. Let the dog hunt the birds, ... you hunt the dog.Edited by: GordonSetter at: 2/12/03 2:12:17 pm
