i came across a single shot 10gauge shotgun,appears very old but cannot determine make or age, stamped on barrel is olympic or olympia, patent 1896 and a reg # on the trigger guard-#48611 or #8611-any info would be greatly appreciated,

There was both an Olympic and Olympia Arms Co. , made by Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works. The Olympia was distributed by Morley Bros. of Saginaw, MI and the Olympic was distributed by Morley and Murphy Hardware Co, of Saginaw, MI. The Olympic may have also been made by Stevens Arms and Tool Co.
