Does anyone know where I may obtain firing pin springs for a Winchester model 24 12ga? I know many out there can't stand the 24 but it has always been there when my others wouldn't do. I hear there are some tricks to substituting non-factory springs that may work. It was built in 1940 when fine figured walnut was the norm and it shoots like a gem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Oregon,
A man never has to apologize for his favorite working shotgun!!

But to your question, if it's a coil spring and you can measure the wire diameter and coil ID or OD, then you can find a replacement at McMaster Carr...type Spring into the search. They have a very handy selection system based on whether the spring fits into a hole, or around a rod, etc. You'll see.
