Ok i am new to shooting besides a .22 and bb guns
My first question is can i shoot slugs out of a Remington 870 express with a 28" Barret Vt or do i have to get a special rifeled barrel?
It comes will a mod choke tube in the barrel so is it ok to shoot steel shot?

Also is there any common problems to expect with this gun it is brand new?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to SGW...newshooterwillie

As for your question, Yes you can shoot slugs in your gun. Get the rifled slugs, not sabots, and I would recommend using a Cylinder or Improved Cylinder choke.
You should be fine for steel shot in the Mod. tube.
And I know of no inherent problems with the 870, it is a great pump.

Yessiree.

And you could get a rifled choke tube and use the sabot slugs. I have never used one but some say they work pretty good.

As long as you take care of your 870 it will last your lifetime and then some. Good choice. :D

I would recommend giving it a thorough cleaning before firing and welcome to SGW.
