Nikko 1st gun?

The chokes are a tighter than I'd want for a clays gun. I'm having a senior moment and can't remember for sure, but I think Nikko is the company that manufactures Browning Citoris. If so, it should be a good gun. You could always get Briley thinwall chokes installed, but that is a fairly expensive proposition. I'd look for something with choke tubes.

Same maker as the Winchester 101. Good guns, but they never took off here because they had to compete with the marginally less expensive Citori. The Nikko was available in many different configurations and grades. They seem to hold their value quite well and have a small but loyal following. They also made an autoloader.

I had a Nikko 5000 sporter -very nice gun and is virtually identical to Win 101 - it is assisted opening which I think is a nice feature and it never gave me a problem - was a bit on light side so recoil might be a problem. The autos were prone to action bar breakages and here in UK parts were and are unobtainable. Like the 101 it will feel loose but don't let that put you off if it shoots OK

You could not buy a better 1st gun, or second etc.. You will NOT be able to install chokes in it, the barrels are too thin(according to Briley). Just have it bored out to IC and Mod. and get after it. Using many different chokes is HIGHLY over-rated. You will be able to kill any bird on a clays course with IC and Mod. if you can put the barrels on the bird. I have shot mine for 5 years now in competition, it has never failed. I am not a great shot but that is not the Nikko's fault. If you get it, enjoy it

Dont think they make um anymore mate , One of the best clays guns for a new shooter you will ever buy .

We used to clean up years ago with my mates Nikko 27inch on the skeet range .

BUY IT

Bought the Nikko today...5000grII, shows very little wear. Paid $795.00. I'll let you know how it shoots...thanks for the help-how'd I do on the price?
