Sounds like an "oxymoron" to me. A "nontoxic" shotgun slug? What do you *hunt" with it - game you don't want to kill?

Seriously, though, there were sabot-clad projectiles made of steel for use by law enforcement about 30 years or more ago. They were designed to penetrate car engine blocks, and autos to get "bad guys", and I believe were for law enforcement only.

IIRC Federal has some sabot slugs useing barns bullets that are 100% copper. You'd have to check then out to be sure though. Why non-tox?

Okay...I guess I had that coming. I gave too little information...We were hunting deer on Gray Goose in California which is actually Federal land. I have done further research about this and I have learned that this is the case and that it mostly applies to the California Condor Range. Thanks for the feedback!
