Handed down in my family for mine will be the 4th generation is a Ithaca side by side 10 gauge there are what looks to be 2 intiles in front of the Ithaca name I can't locate a serial number any ideas on where to start looking for info. The gun will never be for sale it came from around World War ? and in the story Cuba is alway mentioned. Looking to mabe come up with a year it was made and approx value for insurence purpose

:lol: That is part of my problem I can't locate the serial number. Any idea where they hide it on old side by sides?

Yep open the gun (or take the forearm off and open it so you have 3 pieces) and the serial number , grade and frame size should be on the flat part of the reciever the barrels rest on.
