I came into a bunch - 8 or 9 boxes of some old primers. Have never seen them referred to anywhere. The boxes are marked:
RELOADER'S Size 209, non-merc., non-corr. Distribued by "SPIBAC" made in Italy.
They work just fine. The flash hole is sealed by a yellow shellac. They are hard however. My CVA BP gun won't reliably fire them, but I've never had any problems in my shotguns. They're as loud as a F209A. Just curious. They were free, which is always nice.

Likley a Fiocchi, they made primers for Alcan as well as others in bygone days. I'm not aware of another primer manufacturer in Italy, but here may be?

The Alcan primers were hot or magnum primers.Hard to tell by the sound.They were also known for thick primer cups{hard to detonate in some guns}As they are non corrosive I reckon the best thing to would be to shoot 'em just keep an eye on the powder charge.You could probably back off .3-.5 gr and still be ok.

But didn't Herter's supply primers back in the 60's and 70's??

Thanks... They do seem pretty warm. Might explain some higher than expected velocities.
