I'd say you have to evaluate the area you shoot in for starters. I've only shot in the Northeast. My 67 yr old eyes don"t like 8 oclock starts in the woods or cloudy mornings. I've also seen heavy fog at a morning rotations. But it's usually less windy at these times. We don't get the excessive heat or sun midday like down south or the desert. If I'm shooting side events I tend to schedule them first and use them for warm up to main event.
