For a brand new Mossberg you can get them around $200. So $100 seems fair. For home defense your best bet would be getting a 18.5" barrel smoothbore . You can sell the 28" VR or find someone that would trade straight across. Barrels for Mossbergs are easily available on eBay or GunBroker and a lot of times in the classifieds.
