My friend has a new Benelli SBE II with MAX4 Camo and we noticed tonight while cleaning it that there is a plastic like film on it that is peeling and flaking off. The Camo itself is perfectly intact but it is concerning that a brand new gun (less than 50 rounds) has some peeling on the exterior.

Is this normal? Was this supposed to come off? Or is a call into Benelli in the works?

None of my camo guns has done this. I would call Benelli myself.

I did some searching and didn't find a whole lot. Is there a particular thread that you know of that I should be looking at?

If I am not mistaken it is the "Dura Touch" that is peeling.

And if you read the fine print, you are supposed to use mild soap to clean it.

I had a Browning that did the same thing with heavy cleaners before I read the instruction :-(
