Perazzi Engravings

Given the freezing rain today and twenty degree weather tomorrow I’m not shooting so I thought I would post on a topic that is of absolutely no use to anyone. I’d like to clear up a few things about Perazzi engravings. First engraving number 112 shown below:
Rectangle Eye glass accessory Material property Tints and shades Font

The creatures shown have been referred to variously as “gargoyles”, “dragons” or “gryphons “. They are none of the above. These are wyverns. Wyverns are two-legged dragon-like creatures with long pointed tails that were often used in heraldry hence their use here. They do not spit fire but can spit noxious substances. Next engraving 25:
Rectangle Eye glass accessory Revolver Font Tints and shades

PSA has described this as a Griffon. It is not. Griffons (or giffins or gryphons) have the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. This is the winged lion, symbol of Saint Mark, the patron saint of Venice. It is fitting that flowers are spewing from its mouth because it was a symbol of both war and peace. The bottom side of the engraving shows angels holding dead game which I did not think could happen until I came upon the following scholarly work by Larson:
Sky Art Adaptation Painting Poster

I hope this clears things up.

I would never in a million years have paid to have it done, but I will say this, Hw -- it is nice to be able to easily find my gun in a rack of dozens. :)

Due to the similarities to this known Angelo Bee work, I'm guessing your first guess was right, Sera:

Definitely not Creative Art!!!! Probably Bill Mains.
Also that Perazzi was engraved after the fact. Angelo Bee signed most of his work, sometimes with just a little bumble bee…

Well, he sent it to Jack West to have the comb done, so it makes sense he would have sent it to a state-side engraver. Thanks much!
“I shot with a gentleman with a Fabbri funeral grade just a couple weeks ago”

Hate to be “that guy” but I’m curious what “Funeral Grade” means in the comment above
Deep blue (or black) w/ a gold wire outline.

The one Justice posted looks like the one I saw at a pigeon shoot 10 yrs ago or so. I have seen about 20 Fabbri's in person and only one funeral model and one bulino ("bank-note"). Most spectacular engraving I have ever seen was on an F Rizzini SxS. They wouldn't let me near it as I was drooling so much.

Just got a 12 gauge sc3 with scroll engrave signed by Gerri does anyone know who the engraver is?
Are you sure it says Gerri and not Terri? Morena Terri is a master engraver who works at the Perazzi factory.
Yes it is Terri M signed thank you very much
Here is a video of her at work

I have a Terri gun. #100 pattern.
My 28 gauge Lusso grade was engraved by her. Lusso engraving tends not to attract much attention but if you really look at it it is quite beautiful and her work is incredible.
