Perazzi apparently glues their recoil pads to the stock. Is there any way to remove it without cutting it off? Probably not but I thought I would ask. I don't understand how Perazzi would think it was a good idea.

Have had experience with other brands of shotguns with glued on recoil pads. The glue used is called hide glue and the pad is best removed with the application of moisture and heat along with gentle prying with a very thin bladed blunt tipped knife. Most times I’ve been able to remove the pad with no damage done to the stock by working the tip off the knife in (between the stock and pad) while holding it over a steaming teapot. By working slowly and introducing the heat and moisture of the steam against the knife blade and into the joint, the pad will come lose.

Replaced a few of these. The have been as easy as a little heat and a putty knife as Bruin mentions or as hard as having them break apart and chisle pieces off (happened once). If you can wedge both top and bottom then go through the stock hole and wiggle that’s seems to work. I think they all differ by how much glue the Italians were sniffing when they put the pad on.
