I thought everyone her might like to see these photos. It has been a great season for grouse and woodcock where I hunt, with some hunts (about 2 hours) having put up 20+ woodcock and 10+ grouse.

Here is a nice red phase grouse from Saturday and a few pics of the 503 as well.

My weim Skyler and her first solid pointed grouse and dad actually didn't miss.

And the 503

Great pics Omega!!!!

You have done really well, and your gun along side those birds says it all.
Beautiful dog, got a question, what kind of e collar do you use on your dog and does it work well for you? What setting?
continuous or intermediate stimulation?
I am in the process of training a chocolate lab for upland that is why I am asking.
I really like the pics, a good dog, a nice over and under and in the autumn it doesn't get any better, and you got birds on top of that. :D

Howdy,

Beautiful dog, beautiful shotgun, beautiful fall day, nice bag of birds! The only thing to make it better was if it was me, my Dad, and my son there too.

When you add it all up, it just says life doesn't get much better!

Congrats, safe trails,
CKid

Sorry for not replying earlier. . .I have been hunting. :D

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Beretta391,

I have a tritronics 65 sbpr, the beeper ecollar combo. I use it for everything, upland and waterfowl. Obviously don't have the beep on for waterfowl. For a lab, I would say go with a tritronics ecollar. I have a friend that has it in camo pattern and he loves his. I forget the model number, but you can't go wrong with tritronics. My settings range from 1/2 to 5, the most my weim has went to is 3, and that was once. . .most I go up to is 2 and usually I just have to give the warning beep now. Make sure you put them on TIGHT!!

The real question is.......

Did the Verona bag the buck??????????? LOL

Either way, nice gun, dog, bird, and buck.
Nope, I hunt in the rifle zone in Michigan, so never deer hunt with a shotgun. I have a Remington Woodsmaster 30-06 semi-auto, been a great gun for years. . my dad bought it for me before I was legal to hunt, been using it since 14. . . .two more days and I am 30!!!! If I hunt in the shotgun zone, I use my T/C Omega instead of a shotgun.

Where at???? I was just up there opening week between Mackinaw and Cheboygan. Still used a shotgun though. No shots far enough for a rifle, to my trusty deer slaying Mossy 695.

You came to Michigan for deer???? With all those monster Ohio bucks!!

I hunt in Clare, which is just north of Mt. Pleasant. Opening day I saw around 35 deer, 10 different bucks. . .second day was crazy, saw around 50 deer and 24, yes 24 different bucks, with the one I shot being the biggest. A 15 year old shot a 9 point with a 19" inside spread on opening day and a 10 point with a 17" spread and taller tines the second day, not a bad way to start. His blind is about 500 yards from mine.
