Just got a new-to-me Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge at the gun show this past weekend. It has a 20" ribbed Remington barrel stamped modified. Nice factory looking mag extension. Pachmayr recoil pad. Called Remington and found out it was made in 1977 and originally had a 28" ribbed Remington modified barrel, so someone cut if off (very professionally too) in the past.

Anyway, I'm interested in the TacStar Weapons Light System 2000. It's on this webpage about halfway down:

http://tacstar.com/tacstar/lightsys.htm

It looks like it's a T6 Tactical (6V Xenon) 75 Lumens (2-3V Lithium) light, pressure switch, batteries, and mount all in one package. I can find it online for less than $100. I think this is the light I want for my gun, as I don't want to replace the forend at all.

Any opinions? Any pictures of a clamp-style light mounted on an 870 Wingmaster?

look down a few topics and click on the" low budget tac light" topic.

here is a link to the really nice light clamp that hangs off the barrel and magazine:http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=1537&title=TACTICAL+SHOTGUN+MOUNT

I like that setup with the 20 inch sawed off. I have a cosmetically ok full choke barrel that may one day turn into a 20 incher. If I would do anything, consider getting the non-deluxe wingamsater/police foregrip wood instead of that sporter grip that covers the loading port when racked back. It will facilitate unloading of shells more so than with the longer wood.

The late 70's vintage is as about as good as it gets for wingmasters.
