Just wondering how many of you shoot your emptys???

I was just shooting clays by my self today with my $30 thrower with the long string that I manualy pull.

Anyhow, I had about a box of $3 20ga shells left so I decided to throw my emptys up by hand and shoot them, I did pretty well. Its cool when they get hit just right and they go about 200 yards in the air.

Just make sure you dont shoot a live shell, I dont know what would happen if a pellet hit that primer.

I reload all my empties, those that are "shot out" go home and into the garbage. Hitting a primer may set it off but the result would be a non-issue. A cartridge needs to be in a chamber to build up the pressure needed to attain hazardous velocities. Federal Cartridge and the Fridley, MN Fire Dept did a test of this back in the '70s and it has been replicated by several other organizations since.
