I prefer ground blinds but use a tree stand the opening weekend of gun season or longer depending on the number of other hunters in the area. The last week of the gun season and the muzzleloader season are pretty barren of others so I do most of my hunting on the ground. It also allows greater mobility and silence which is a great benefit late in the year.

i like ground blinds because I have the abilty to move my blind quickly. actually i have killed more deer sitting on a five gallon bucket than any other method. if the wind changes i can move to compensate or I can easily change locations. just watch your scent and keep your sillouet broken up with a tree or brush.

Where is the neither option. It drives my brother and dad nuts but I can't stand sitting in a stand/blind and waiting. I would much rather keep moving. I like to get into the thick cover and find the deer. Move slow and stop often and listen.

I use a ground blind mainly because I hunt with my 12 year old son and, starting this year, my 10 year old daughter. Don't want either of them in a tree stand by themselves yet -- safety issues and I want to be next to them until my daughter is older and I'm confident they both can make the correct decision on when to shoot and when not to shoot.

treestand i have harvested from both. I like many of you have kids that I take hunting. bass pro has a 2 person treestand for $99.00 + shipping ($10.00 for over size box and $8.00 shipping ) it only there online in the store they cost 100 more it works great and comes with 2 safety harness and a rail. or you can build a cool tree house witch doubles as a deer stand( *******? naw ! ) I have 80 acres so yea I am spoiled I have 7 stands in place and my tree loung is a wall hanger now.
