Well I have 3 Shotguns right now,all 3 are 12 gauges.
One is for obvious "tactical" applications: Benelli Special Purpouse Nova!Very very nice shotgun people!!!
The next one is an Escort(being heraing alot on them lately),28" Field Hunter that is being used for the first time this year for Doves, may get used for Phesant if I draw, mybe some quail if I figgure out how to do that without a dog and certainly will see some Turkey time if I dont opt for another model of the same but ina camo config! Believe folks for the small money these Turkish knock offsd are better done than nay 500 or 870 entry level shotguns i have owned.
The last shotgun i have is an old Kessler Arms Model 50. It belonged to my Grandfather who died about 4 years ago. It is a lever action 12 gauge to give you an idea. It has a blind magazine and he had it for rabbit hunting up north where he lived. Ive been thinking about refinishing it..I know, I know, but it doesnt have alot of value as a collector, its sort of a "Black Pearl", and I would like to refinish it and chase some squirrels and cottontails with it.
I said other because I use a pump for everything I shoot with a shotgun.)
I have a winchester 1300 black shadow pump 20 gauge that I use for clays, doves, deer with rifled slugs and adjustable clamp on iron sights, ducks, squirrel and rabbit, turkey, predators, and pheasant.
and a Browning BPS stalker 12 gauge 3 1/2"
doves, clays, ducks, geese, turkey, deer with 00 buckshot, and sometimes squirrel and rabbits.
Protection: for when I'm salmon fishing and/or camping - just incase something big and furry decides I'm dinner.
Hunting: Best damn brush buster for rabbit and Ruffed grouse I have ever seen. @ 39" it tracks fast and has a tight swing radius. used to it get 15 ruffed grouse this year (2 doubles and one triple) and one rabbit. Rabbit season just started so I'll be out with the mossy and my snowshoes for another 3 months.
Love pumps. Simple, reliable.
20ga wingmaster when I can find some cash (comming soon)
The main thing about pumps is that they are utilitarian, and I love them for their functionality (itself beautiful). I have a 16 ga one with immense sentimental value. I hunt everything with it but deer up in Maine, where it still serves as my back up gun.
I use my 870 express for everything. Trap, doves, turkey, squirrel, rabbit and on goes the mossburg slug barrel for deer. You cant go wrong with a pump of any brand. They all work great. I am about to purchase a Benelli nova and a slug barrel to go along with it!
