Ok I have an 870 Express Magnum Youth Model. I got it back in 1998 when my brother gave it to me. When I got it, it was my size but now it doesn't fit me, the stock is too short. I'm wondering if I could buy a longer stock and forearm, say for instance could I buy a regular non-Youth 870 Express Forearm and Stock Kit, and put it on my gun, and how would I get it camoflauged if I wanted it camoflauged, I heard the wood isn't the thing to get anymore with an 870, I heard the synthetic is better. What's your opinion and answers on this?

Synthetic is easier to care for and cheaper. If I'm not mistaken the receiver on the Youth model is the same as the regular express model so you can use Remington's or any 3rd party stock and fore end kit to replace your current stock. Right now is a good time to buy because the old Mossy Oak and Realtree (2nd generation patterns) you can find on any of the auction sites or sporting good stores at reasonable prices.

As for Camo'ing the receiver and barrel, you can have them dipped for more than a new 870 would cost or have it painted by companies like Angle Port or just get some of the camo tape and do it yourself. Actually you could talk to your local gunshop and ask them how to paint it yourself if you wanted a project.

Yeah I found a 870 Express stock and Forearm kit a while back in Wal-Mart, it was synthetic just plain black, then I really didn't have my mind on it but now I do so I'll probably go and buy that and put it on there, but I'd really like camoflauge, I'm sure I can find a kit somewhere.
